A.J. Huber
Associate Director
A.J. Huber is an Associate Director at Tzedek DC and has been part of the Tzedek DC team since January 2020. During that time, he has represented hundreds of DC residents in individual disputes, mentored numerous pro bono attorneys and interns, helped develop the Young Adult Financial Empowerment Program, and played a key role in reforming DC’s debt collection laws. In his current role as an Associate Director, A.J. supervises Staff Attorneys and leads our litigation efforts. A.J. is drawn to this work because he is passionate about consumer protection and effecting transformational changes to promote racial equity.
Before joining Tzedek DC, A.J. practiced law for over four years at The Williford Firm LLC in Delaware, where he gained significant experience in civil litigation in both state and federal court. Before that, he served as the law clerk to DC Superior Court Judge Lynn Leibovitz and as a judicial intern to DC Superior Court Judge Craig Iscoe. A.J. also previously worked as an intern and summer law clerk at the Delaware Department of Justice, where he assisted crime victims and regularly appeared in court on behalf of the state. A.J. has also worked as an intern at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he focused on Freedom of Information Act administrative appeals, and as a research assistant to GW Law Professor Mary Cheh, for whom he researched legislation aimed at increasing employment opportunities for ex-offenders.
A.J. is a graduate, with Distinction, of the University of Michigan (2010), where he triple-majored in Spanish, Political Science, and Economics. He is also a graduate, with Honors, of the George Washington University Law School (2013), where he was a Notes Editor of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal and an Alternative Dispute Resolution Board Member. A.J. is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.
